1. Who we are

JigyasaVerse is an independent, founder-led learning, publishing and creative exploration project based in Victoria, Australia.

In this policy, “JigyasaVerse”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the person or entity operating jigyasaverse.org.

We aim to handle personal information carefully, transparently and consistently with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply to us.

2. Information we may collect

Information you choose to provide

When you contact us, send a story, submit a question, join a program or request information, we may receive:

  • Your name, email address and message.
  • Your story, question, creative work or other submitted content.
  • Your school, organisation or role, if you choose to provide it.
  • Any other information you include in a form or communication.

Information collected when you visit

Our website may collect limited technical and usage information, such as browser and device type, pages visited, approximate location, referral source and interactions with website features.

Purchases through another website

Books may be sold through third-party retailers such as Amazon. Those purchases are governed by the retailer’s own privacy policy and terms. JigyasaVerse does not collect your full payment card details through this website.

3. How we use information

We may use information to:

  • Respond to questions, messages and requests.
  • Operate and improve the website and its learning experiences.
  • Review a story or creative submission and communicate with its author.
  • Manage programs, resources, workshops or partnerships.
  • Understand general website usage and fix technical problems.
  • Protect visitors, prevent misuse and comply with legal obligations.
  • Send updates only where you requested them or where otherwise permitted.

We do not sell personal information.

4. Analytics, cookies and browser storage

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand broad patterns, such as which pages are visited and whether features are used.

Google may process technical and usage information under its own terms and privacy practices. You can limit analytics through your browser privacy settings or content-blocking tools.

The Daily Jigyasa game

Your Daily Jigyasa stars and optional reflection are stored using local browser storage on your device. The reflection is not intentionally sent to JigyasaVerse.

Completing a quest may send a general analytics event, such as the selected quest category and total number of stars. It does not send the words written in your reflection.

Clearing your browser storage will erase the Daily Jigyasa progress held on that device.

5. When information may be shared

We may disclose limited information:

  • To providers that help us host, secure, analyse or operate the website.
  • To a retailer or program provider when you choose to use that service.
  • When required by law or reasonably necessary to protect someone’s safety or legal rights.
  • With your permission.

Some technology providers may process information outside Australia. Their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy practices.

6. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure. No website or transmission method is completely secure.

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably required for its original purpose, record-keeping, dispute resolution or legal obligations.

7. Children and young people
